Meet Heather Currence, MSSW, LSW, a compassionate and experienced social worker dedicated to serving individuals facing various mental health challenges. Heather holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Ohio University and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Louisville, providing her with a solid foundation to support her clients on their healing journey.

With seven years of diverse experience in leadership, case management, individual counseling, and group therapy, Heather is committed to positively impacting the lives of those she serves. Her professional journey has allowed her to work with a wide range of populations, including veterans, justice-involved individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

Heather specializes in addressing mental health issues such as psychosis, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders. She empowers her clients to overcome obstacles and achieve their therapeutic goals by utilizing evidence-based treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, and mindfulness techniques.

In addition to her broad skill set, Heather is trained in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for PTSD, enabling her to provide specialized care to individuals struggling with trauma-related symptoms. Her approach is rooted in empathy, trauma-informed care, and a commitment to building a strong therapeutic alliance based on trust and collaboration.
