Licensed Professional Counselor | Trauma-Informed Therapist | Anxiety & Depression Specialist

Roy McClelland Jr., MA, LPCC, is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a strong commitment to helping individuals navigate life’s most difficult challenges. With a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University (2021) and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University (2013), Roy brings both clinical expertise and a deep understanding of human behavior to his therapy sessions.

Roy has over 20 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and families across a wide range of settings, including residential treatment centers, community-based services, and nonprofit organizations. Before becoming a licensed therapist, Roy served as the Director of Women’s Residency Programs at the YWCA, where he supported formerly homeless women in building stability and long-term wellness. This experience shaped his client-centered and compassionate therapeutic style.

As a trauma-informed therapist, Roy specializes in supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. He works closely with individuals who are struggling with emotional overwhelm, relationship issues, identity development, and personal growth. Roy’s approach to therapy is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, evidence-based modalities that help clients gain clarity, build coping skills, and make meaningful changes.

Roy is known for his calm, soft-spoken demeanor and his ability to build strong, trusting therapeutic relationships. He creates a safe, supportive environment where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to explore their experiences. Roy believes in promoting self-care, fostering resilience, and helping individuals develop healthier relationships with themselves and others.
