Bio:

Joel is an accomplished Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with extensive experience in

the field of mental health and addiction counseling. He is dedicated to improving the lives of

individuals and families through evidence-based practices and leadership in the healthcare industry.

Professional Journey:

Joel’s journey began at Wabash Friends Counseling Center, where he developed and facilitated

an Intensive Outpatient Program for Substance Use Treatment, boasting an impressive 93%

completion rate. Throughout his career, Joel has worked with various organizations, including

Family Service Society, Inc., where he co-developed family recovery court protocols and

facilitated an Outpatient Program for Substance Use Disorder Treatment. His commitment to education led him to become an Adjunct Professor at Concordia University-Irvine, where he conducts intensive group psychotherapy and provides online classroom education in various counseling subjects. Joel utilizes dynamic online education formats to engage students, resulting in a 100% retention rate. At Otis R. Bowen Center, Joel served as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Assistant Director, overseeing patient engagement in substance use and mental health services. He co-developed an advanced one-year leadership program and established growth plans for a team of 15 counselors, fostering a more engaged and dynamically trained team.
