Maria Schlaegel, CT | Bilingual Mental Health Counselor-in-Training | English & Spanish Counseling in Ohio

Maria Schlaegel is a bilingual clinical mental health counselor-in-training currently pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University, with graduation anticipated in late 2025. She holds a counselor trainee (CT) license in the state of Ohio and provides client-centered therapy in a compassionate, non-judgmental, and supportive environment.

Maria is passionate about helping individuals on their journey to healing, self-discovery, and emotional well-being. As part of the clinical team at Cook Counseling and Consulting, she works directly with clients while also contributing to case management, documentation accuracy, and insurance coordination, ensuring quality care at every level.

Originally from Ecuador, Maria has been a part of the Ohio community for nearly 30 years and offers therapy services in both English and Spanish. Her cultural background and fluency in Spanish allow her to provide culturally sensitive counseling to diverse populations, particularly the Latinx community.

Maria is a proud member of the National Honor Society and the National Society of Leadership and Success, having maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA and graduating Summa Cum Laude in her undergraduate studies. Her dedication to academic excellence and community service reflects her commitment to creating positive social change through mental health advocacy and support.

Maria’s goal as a future licensed professional counselor is to foster emotional resilience, acceptance, and empowerment in every client she serves.
