Amanda Price, LISW-S, LCSW

Bio

Amanda Price is a compassionate and experienced licensed clinical social worker with a deep commitment to supporting individuals on their journey towards healing and self-discovery. As the Clinical Director of Cook Counseling and Consulting Inc., Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role, guiding both clients and therapists alike in their pursuit of well-being.

Clinical Background and Approach

With over a decade of experience in our community systems, Amanda has dedicated herself to providing comprehensive care and support to individuals and families. Her journey began in 2009, initially in case management before transitioning into therapy. Amanda has extensive experience working with diverse populations, offering therapy to families, individuals, and groups.

Amanda’s therapeutic style is eclectic, drawing upon a variety of evidence-based approaches to meet the unique needs of each client. She is skilled in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and rational emotional behavior therapy (REBT), among others. Amanda shares her lived experiences to give voice to those who may be suffering in silence, fostering an environment of understanding and empathy.

Trauma-Informed Care and Healing

Amanda views struggles through a trauma-informed lens, recognizing the profound impact of past experiences on present-day functioning. In her initial sessions, she prioritizes building rapport and getting to know her clients on a deeper level. Amanda encourages clients to come to sessions with intentions or goals in mind, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented therapeutic relationship.

Healing, Amanda believes, is not a linear process. It requires patience, self-reflection, and compassion. Amanda supports clients in discovering their inner selves, identifying and addressing wounds, and embarking on a journey of self-discovery and growth. She utilizes talk therapy supplemented by various resources such as workbooks, books, videos, and articles to facilitate deeper understanding and insight.

Tailored Treatment and Client-Centered Care

Recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, Amanda collaborates with her clients to determine the most effective treatment strategies. She encourages clients to reflect on their actions and reactions, fostering self-awareness and personal growth. Amanda is committed to creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their identities, values, and experiences.

As an advocate for inclusivity and diversity, Amanda is an ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, an advocate of Ethical Non-monogamy, and sex workers. She supports clients in seeking alternative types of treatment that align with their individual needs and preferences.

Your Partner in Healing

Amanda is dedicated to empowering her clients to live authentically, in alignment with their values and aspirations. With her compassionate and client-centered approach, Amanda invites you to embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and transformation. Together, you can navigate life’s challenges, cultivate resilience, and experience greater happiness and peace within yourself.
