Sophie Berger, Social Work Trainee (SWT) | Trauma-Informed Counseling for Survivors & Social Justice Advocacy

Sophie is a Master of Social Work (MSW) intern and Social Work Trainee (SWT) with a strong foundation in psychology and a minor in women’s and gender studies from Denison University. Beginning her internship in May 2025, Sophie brings a trauma-informed, client-centered approach to her work, with a particular passion for supporting survivors of sexual assault and individuals impacted by trauma.

Her prior experience as a crisis line intern shaped her commitment to promoting safety, autonomy, and healing through empowerment-focused care. Sophie is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and nonjudgmental therapeutic space where every client feels seen, heard, and supported.

Grounded in social justice and advocacy, Sophie meets clients where they are, building strong and authentic therapeutic relationships. She incorporates evidence-based interventions into her practice and is continually growing her clinical skills to become a thoughtful, responsive, and effective mental health provider.

Sophie offers trauma-informed support to individuals navigating emotional distress, identity challenges, or systemic barriers to wellness.
