Jacalyn Pridemore, SWT

Jacalyn Pridemore, SWT, is a Master of Social Work trainee at Cook Counseling and Consulting Inc., providing compassionate, affirming therapy for adolescents and adults navigating emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. She has experience supporting clients struggling with eating disorders, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, identity exploration, stress, and major life transitions.

Jacalyn utilizes evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to help clients build practical coping skills, strengthen emotional awareness, and develop healthier daily habits. Her approach is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals.

She believes therapy should be a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to show up authentically and explore their experiences with curiosity and compassion. Jacalyn works alongside clients to help them better understand themselves, manage overwhelming emotions, improve emotional regulation, and build meaningful, lasting change.

In addition to individual therapy, Jacalyn has experience facilitating and co-facilitating therapy groups focused on skill development, emotional support, and interpersonal connection. She values the healing power of community and enjoys helping clients practice new coping strategies in supportive group settings.

As a queer therapist, Jacalyn is committed to creating an inclusive, LGBTQ+ affirming environment where clients feel seen, respected, and emotionally safe. She understands the importance of culturally responsive and identity-affirming mental health care and strives to foster a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and acceptance.
